My dog is able to sit, lay down, stay, come, shake hands and easily house trained by using the advise in this book. It was definitely the right choice in books to train my dog. The only command I haven't tried is heel and now that it's warming up I think we are ready to try it too.

Loved this book since I was young....

I would highly recommend this book for the content and "down-to-earth" wisdom in its pages. It is an older book, so it is written in a style you don't find much anymore, but that's a big part of its charm... it is just SO full of information. Many time-period projects, crafts, lore, even a great section on many tribes' languages and specific words. A must for anyone interested in studying to learn more about Native Americans, even though it is a bit dated.

This is the guide to bonsai! I have read a great deal on bonsai, and everyone respects Mr. Harrington. It is my most fervent hope that he also publishes in paper form. I see it listed as published on 2/20, but have not been able to track it down yet. Can't wait!

Good Starting Point

This book contains some useful information. Being in a drought area in central Texas, I have come to look at gardening in a not so traditional way. Instead of planting flower after flower, I mix my vegetables and herbs right along the others. I thought to call it edible landscaping thinking I was smart only to find out that I was not as smart as i thought because there is all types of nurseries across the country that already target this method if gardening. The more knowledge the better to ensure a beautiful yard and a harvest that my family can enjoy and save some money! Well written in a manner that flows well. Information is repeated, but I guess one would have to just to fill up a books worth of this simple information.

Great charts, great ideas for beneficial pairings.

Companion gardening is something that I had never heard of before. The idea that you intentionally arrange certain species of plants in close proximity to one another in order to have them help each other grow was foreign to me. To find out that the practice has been going on for nearly 10,000 years was quite interesting. As someone who has recently started gardening, and who has purchased several other books on the topic, I have to say that the charts included in this publication were incredibly helpful. The ready-to-use reference is already on the table in my shed out back.
In addition, the write up of the “perfect match-ups” was equally useful. This gave a detailed breakdown of the possible vegetable combinations and what each did to benefit the other. It provides a wonderful starting point for anyone wanting to branch out into the world of gardening. This book didn’t have a lot of description or commentary, but it had a ton of useful content. If gardening is your hobby, this is your book.

I've been working on a self sufficient garden for a while and have ordered and bought many books but this one allow you to fully understand what you need to know, It is a good start for every beginner gardener.
There is plenty of information in the pages, to be honest I have never grown up on a farm or a garden except trying to grown some things here and there in the back yard of my patio. And one of the main reasons why people create greenhouses is because its allows them to plant all year around and this book will help you to build your own greenhouse and learn to create the plantation that you want while doing it indoors.

Excellent introduction and history to Playa del Carmen

This was the only book I found that actually gave me interesting history of this specific area. I enjoyed the smoothly written history of the Playa del Carmen. It does not go into depth about the rapidly changing commercial options, but that wasn't a problem for me, as I rely on online sources. I definitely recommend this book if you are going to visit Playa del Carmen.

This guide book lacks specifics. I was looking for a guidebook somewhat like Rick Steves', giving general information as well as specifics. This guidebook doesn't give me any information that I can't find anywhere else. What a waste of money! Very disappointed!
