Really Interesting Plot and Characters

"The Paws That Bring Good News" was a really good book. The plot had a mystery and a lot of twists and turns. The characters were likeable and enjoyable. I wanted to keep reading until I got to the end, and even though I thought I had everything figured out, surprises kept coming. The only negatives were: the character point-of-view kept switching randomly, which I found distracting. Also, there were a few chunks of information sort of dumped in the book about creation vs. evolution and every single step to running a No-Kill dog shelter, which seemed unnecessary to the plot. (I ended up skimming those parts even though I am a Creationist, and I like the No-Kill shelter idea.) I also didn't really understand the necessity of the comparison of "Chris" to "Christ" throughout the book, but maybe it would have been more clear if I had read the first book in this series and didn't start in the middle of things with Book #2. Other than those things, it was an enjoyable read, and I recommend picking it up after reading Book #1!

I couldn't put this book down. The characters' stories are beautifully woven together in a small southern town. The plot combines so many elements that are dear to me: Carolina Dogs, the goodness of God, humor, gentle hints of romance, mystery, and major questions in life. The author writes about sensitive issues with such compassion, such as making decisions about abortion and adoption. I just finished it, but I think I will have to read it again because I'm attached to the characters and not ready to let them go! I hope there will be more Whipporwill Chronicles!

The moment I picked up this book until I read the last page, I was hanging on every word. I was hoping for the best for each person. The ending was satisfying but I wanted to keep going. I hope the third book comes out soon!

good for first timers in Greece

This guide is a little too broad compared to the other publications in this series but as someone who has never traveled to Greece I still found it quite useful and enjoyable. It inspired me to venture off into places I don't think I would have gone to otherwise and I felt like I had some insight knowledge to really appreciate the setting and the culture. I give it five starts because If you have'nt yet traveled to Greece this is a good starting point guide and you will find it useful , although for a seasoned traveler it is a tad too general.

I am fairly certain that all the review are fake, as is the author name. The writer is not a native speaker of English, and has no knowledge of knitting terms or abbreviations. This is NOT a book with knitting patterns, but simply a very small stitch guide. None of the standard abbreviations are used, and there are none of the described photos, just a snapshot of a swatch done with each stitch. Consider the other reviews; have you actually ever heard anyone talk that way?

Just as good as Dog Fancy

I was very disappointed when Dog Fancy and Cat Fancy published their last issues and announced that Dogster and Catster would be coming out very soon in their place. My disappointment was in vain because Dogster is just as good as the previous magazine and maybe better. There are still the articles on health and medicine, breeds, training and most of what was in Dog Fancy. I bought this one issue to see what I thought of it and I wasn't disappointed at all.

I'm glad that those of us who love our pets and like to read about their care still have a good magazine to enjoy.

Perfect purse or pocket-sized DC guidebook

Great book! We spent 3 days in DC and at Arlington National Cemetery this Summer, and we used it every day. Lots of tips, info and shortcuts included here and having the DC subway/metro map was really helpful, too.

Small enough for pocket, purse or backpack, this was well worth the money.
