This book, or should I say instruction manual, was definitely an illuminating read. It opened my eyes to something that I would not normally do and allowed me to fully appreciate it. Before reading this, I knew NOTHING about the formation of candles or even how much scent was in a candle - I only knew that whenever I decided to light them that they would provide soft lighting and sweet smells. Now, if it strikes my fancy, I can actually make my own candles because of this manual. It was quite helpful in explicating the processes involved in making a candle as well as difficulties one must face when making them. Also, it brings to light how to make a profit when making your own candles. This also includes the different types of candles. Before reading this, a candle was just a candle; they did not have names and every candle was the same. I only knew the name of the tea light candle because I pray with them. This book was just so vast and knowledgeable that it made candles incredibly interesting. In short this book was very illuminating - pun intended.

Making candles may seem as simples as melting wax into a mold, but there are actually more steps involved if you want to create something unique and heartfelt. This is a great guide helps you pick the right type of wax without being overly technical. There are also parts that cover making different styles of candle that you can uses to accentuate your home, or as gifts for close friends.

The section that laid out what “not” to do while making candles was easy to read, easy to understand, and saved me a lot of time by preventing mistakes before they happen. I personally make candles for friends and family, but for those that wish to make a little extra through their craft, the book has a section dedicated to improving your sales strategy.

The book is not too short as to be incomplete, and not too long as to be tedious to complete. It’s affordable priced and a great resource for those new to candle making.

Candle Making Like a Pro is a great book for those who want to not only improve their skills but great for those who want to learn a new fun hobby. This book provides you with in-depth details and instructions in regards to the process of candle making and as well as the difficulties you may come across when making them. What I really enjoyed was how the author provided a history of candles - the development and use... I also liked how this guide not only shows how to make simple candles but shows you how to make elaborate candles that would be perfect for gifts after mastering the skill. Candles not only provide a great scent around your home, but can be used as gifts for friends and family as well as something you can make a profit from when you learn to make candles like a pro. I think it's great that the author added chapter 7 into this book - "turning your candle making into a business". This book definitely helped improve my candle making skills and it will help yours as well.

Robin is a retired Colonel, United States Marine Corps Reserves, and is married with two children. She lives in Stafford, Virginia.

When I learned it was plain old written directions, and I know how to do those. The explanations for the charts will be helpful. I knew almost all of the stitches.

A perfect book for new cat parents!

I had cats before and fostered some cats and kittens. In fact, I adopted my foster mother and two of her babies, which are now over one year old. I just adopted a precious kitten, now nearly 6 weeks. She went for her first vet check-up and shots
last month plus had those two tests done. I am so happy I Found your book. You told me 3x what her vet said. I am having her desexed tomorrow. I read up on that, also as a refresher, as I have done it so many times before. Your book is very refreshing and very informative for new kitten parents.

While specific on the things this book does cover, there were a lot of things that it did NOT cover. I just got 2 kittens and I did not find everything I needed. On the whole the book was good but I wish it recommended brands for stuff like toys, food, litter, ect.
