A wonderful true love story!

Excellent book for all dog lovers especially Japanese Akitas, or if your soulmate dog had passed on to the Rainbow Bridge. I am a Retriever person and found it very educational learning about Akitas. One of my dogs is named Hachiko after the famous Akita from Shibiya. I couldn't put the book down and read it all in one day!. It made me smile, laugh, reminisce, and cried, cried, cried through the conclusion pages. My 16 year old Golden Retriever passed a few months ago and Mr. Bain is so correct that time only helps us learn to live with the loss but the pain and emptiness remains forever. He is also telling the truth about the experiences he encountered after Zeus' passing. I know... Because I periodically experience those things too and wondered if grief is playing with my imagination... But no, it happens and then I feel surrounded with love and peace and listen with my heart.
Definitely a "must read" book!

Such a great read

If you are or have been an Akita or dog owner, this is a wonderful and personal account of a love between a dog and his humans. As an Akita owner, it was so very true, touching and sad. Loved it but cried a lot for Zeus as well as my own Akitas who are waiting for me at the Rainbow Bridge.
